Squirrels In The Attic
January 16, 2012

Since moving into this house here in SC I have found that I am not the only one living here. There are squirrels in the attic. At first I thought they were rats so, I put out rat poison. Well, squirrels seem to be too smart to eat rat poison though they look like rats with furry tails to me.
Now there were lots of bushes and vines growing up against the house in the back. As I began to cut them down I discovered that there was an opening being covered by the vines that lead right into the attic. And then I saw a squirrel come off the roof and go right into the hole. That’s when I realized that I didn’t have rats. That was 3 months ago.
I finally got the Orkin man to come out here today and he says we can cover the holes with chicken wire and trap the squirrels for about $250. I thought that was a good price since another company here in Goose Creek wanted over $350. So around the first of the month I am going to attempt to get rid of my furry little house guest. And they are lucky I don’t know how to make squirrel stew, and that I am not willing to skin and dress them, which I had considered.
