Raw Food Disappointment!

kelpWell last week I think I told you about a new product I wanted to try, Kelp noodles. After doing some research and hearing some talk on some forums it turns out that kelp noodle aren’t as raw as I would like. They are processed but never heated to more than 100 degrees. The point for me is that some of the nutrition is reduced. I am most concerned with the enzyme loss. I don’t know how much loss there is but, the one of the main reasons I want to go raw is the fact that raw foods retain the enzymes needed for digestion.

Since I have been diagnosed with hiatal hernia I have to take drugs like prelosec or nexxium to control stomach discomfort. The raw food diet almost eliminates this whole ordeal. I very rarely have to use medication. I really believe that the enzymes in the food have a lot to do with that. I am not a doctor so I don’t know how this diet really affects my stomach. All I do know is that I feel a lot better where my stomach is concerned.

As far as the noodles I will probably use what I have. They are tasteless and seem to be missing some nutrition, but, they were kind of expensive. They are raw enough to finish because of that. Lol. Anyway, when they are gone I will use zucchini and run it through a spiral slicer if I want to make a raw noodle dish. There is a little more taste and a lot more nutrition.

Some personal disappointment on my part is that I seem to get really bored on weekends and, fall off the raw food wagon. I seem to be fine during the week but, I think I have too much time on my hands on the weekend. I need some help in this area.
