This song is a prayer I often utter.
Could it be a random thing? I don’t understand.
Am I the only one? Lord I’m struggling.
When I want to do right Wrong is right there, inside me.
But in my inner most, a perfect law
And the battle’s on.
I pray for your mercy!
I know there ain’t nothing that’s good in me.
But I’m strong in your Spirit.
And I stand cause your righteousness makes me free.
About the Song
In the book of Romans Paul writes..
We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. (Romans 7:14-23)
I was praying, needing, a way to says this in just a few words. I don’t think I succeeded. So, at least here you can see where the song was inspired. I pray for God’s mercy and grace. I pray for the strength that I know I have in Christ to overcome the desires to do the wrong things in whatever situation I face.
I hope this helps you to understand.

Hi April,
Thanks for listening and, I’m glad you liked it. However, the rest of the story is between you and the Lord.
I like it and for the most part you captured the main message in a few words
Because I like the song you leave me wanting more though, tell me the rest of the story
Love the effect on your voice!!
Love and miss you Tony <3
Tony,
So glad to hear you again and know that the awesome talent inside of you is still going forth and touching lives. WOW – so proud of you and thank God for crossing our lives and hopefully will do so again soon. Got to see your precious children in July at Tiffany’s wedding. So grown up and so sweet! Thanks for sharing your music with me and I’ll pass it on to my family
Good songs come from the struggle to live the life and people can relate. Keep up the good work. Craig
Hi Tony,
This is your sister. Hey I really liked your song but I’m just drop dead tired. Mike and I have been up since 11:00 this morning frying fish and, this is the most energy I’ve had since I’ve been taking my chemo treatments. Now I think i’ve used all I had because I’ve got to go to bed. So I’ll talk to you later.
PS. I love you
