Current Project / Sing Hallelujah

by Tony Tate on December 27, 2008

Hello and welcome to Sing Hallelujah!

I have wanted to be a recording artist, song writing,  and producer most of my life. I have been writing songs for over 20 years now. I am beginning to understand more things about recording as well. I have written  and re-recorded several songs in the past several months. These songs are copyright protected. If you like one download it. If  you like all of them feel free. For sure there is 1 more songs to be added to this project. This particular project is called Sing Hallelujah.

My Home Studio

The Lord has blessed me to be able to get my  recordings underway with equipment I already possessed, and, a free recording program that came with my computer when I purchased it. The Program is called garage band. It is part of the package that comes with all Apple computers. At first I didn’t think much of it, but, then I started to realize the power it had. That excited me. That was all the impetus I needed to get started.

The studio consist of my iMac computer, two personal studio monitors made by Yamaha,

DMT-8vl 8 track recorder that I use as an audio interface, M-Audio keystation for musical input, MXL condenser mic to record vocals and external acoustic instruments. Nothing fancy, but, it’s enough for now.

I do plan to upgrade. I’d like to have either Logic Pro by Apple, and or, Digidesign’s Pro Tools. Also I’d like to  add the Ensemble by Apogee as an audio interface and also, the MC Mix, which is a mixing console made by Euphonix. That’s about a $3500 upgrade but, it would be well worth it. I will probably invest in some better microphones as well.

What do I plan to do with all this? I will keep writing and recording of course. I would like to be able to help someone else get their ideas recorded. Studio  fees are really expensive, and, most of the time you don’t come away with a product you are not satisfied with. If nothing else I can show people what is possible if you have the right stuff at home. Maybe, one day, I will be a record producer. Awesome!

Your music inspires me to praise The Lord. Very professional sound. So when will the album be available?

Keeping it real,

Tony!

I love you man! Your sound is righteous! Blew this by my 16 year old daughter – you know Michael – and she she put it on her ipod. Got me a sweet little home studio myself. Your other navy brother – Troy

Tony, checked out your latest tune , ” It’s Jesus”. Excellent choice of subject matter! On top of that, it was very funky and had a great melodic hook. I truly enjoyed it. You are a bad dude!

You’re a talented Dude, Tony. I thank God for people who just want to praise Him with their talent – no other agenda. All three of these tunes have the hallmark Tony Tate sincerity, and the undeniable technical accomplishment – both musical and electronic. This is good stuff.

I hate when people say that. Am I that dated?

I like it. Has an 80’s sound. Also like the picture, you look like a real cool cat!

“It’s Jesus” should be up and running now.

This isn’t even the right mix. I will upload the correct version soon.
