Learning The Bible

by Tony Tate on April 5, 2009

For the past 8 weeks I have been taking some bible classes at the Koinonia Institute. The first class I took was introduction to spiritual disciplines. The main subject matter was discipleship, prayer, bible study and the integrity of God’s Word. I learned quite a few things that I didn’t know in those first 5 weeks. A very interesting class.

My current class is called Old Testemant Survey. What a class. This is the most interesting stuff I have ever discovered in the bible and, I have been a Christian and reading the Word for 20 plus years. Dr Chuck Missler is the proffessor in this particular class and does an incredible job.

So far I have learned there really are hidden messages in the bible, but, a casual reading of the bible would not reveal these things. It really takes some digging and investigating the original hebrew and greek text. Our english translation misses a few things because of translation problems.

Another thing that I am discovering (and never really had a problem with) is that the copy of the bible that we have today is very reliable. God has taken great care to make sure that His Word has remained pure. So what we have today in our bible is sound and true. As far as enlish versions of the bible I think that King James is the best translation.

My faith in increasing. My interest level in the Word of God is through the roof. I am increasing in knowledge and hope to be able to share what i am beginning to understand through persona witness and maybe even a bible study at home. Definitely I will be sharing some things here on the Mechanics Of Faith.

Remember, faith comes by hearing; and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17)

Learn the Bible In 24 Hours – This is a very interesting study of the bible. If you have never studied the bible seriously this is a great start.
