If you read my article from yesterday (Christmas Day) you know that it did not start out to well. I was in a pretty foul mood. I was mad that I had to work, and, that I had to work the next day which limited the time I had left to visit friends (I work at night so I would have had to go to sleep at some point early in the day).
I ended up calling to see what my schedule at work was going to be like and it turns out that I didn’t have to go in until 6am vs. midnight, which meant that I could visit my friends and enjoy Christmas day with everyone else. Just so you know, I had prayed earlier in the day that my schedule for the day after Christmas would change.
So, here are some of the blessings. First I went to dinner at Dave and Celeste’s home. There were other guest as well. We had Maine Lobster, shrimp, smashed potatoes and cold slaw. There was a variety of cheeses and wine before dinner. We all had a great time and a great meal. I love lobster.
Afterward I went to my friend Nate’s home where more of my friends had gathered for dinner earlier. We visited and sipped wine for most of the time I was there. But while I was there Nate took me into his studio and showed me a piece of equipment that I was planning to buy for my own studio. As a matter of fact it was the very same piece of equipment that another friend of mine owned. I had planned to make an offer for but Nate had beaten me to it. To my surprise though he offered it to me for a small fraction of what he paid for it, which, was a small fraction of the original cost. Talk about blessings.
God had arranged this. There is no doubt about it. I have in the passed priced this piece of musical gear and it cost well over $700-$1000. Trust me when I say I got a tremendous deal.
I have been confessing the Word of God more regularly than I ever have, because I’d never done it before 3 months ago. I have been learning that to increase my faith I need to confess what the Lord says about my life and all circumstance I find myself in. I am learning to use the Word of God as seed to plant a harvest of things I need in daily life. The stuff I need in my studio are among these items.
You see where I am going with this. I am beginning to see things happen in my life that I am only used to hearing about in someone else’s life. I am finally starting to understand faith and how to use it in everyday life. I am quite excited.
You would think that confessing the Word (I mean speaking it out loud) would be an easy thing to do, and it is. However, there are days when it actually takes quite a bit of courage for me to do it. For instance confessing that “my God supplies all my need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” when there is apparent lack in many areas of my life is a challenge. But the reason I am confessing is to build my faith in God’s word, which is TRUE regardless of my circumstance. God’s word never changes so guess what has to change as I stand my ground on God’s word? That’s right – MY CIRCUMSTANCE!
GLORY BE TO GOD! I’M BLESSED!
