3 Days In

I have now been in South Carolina for 3 days. The house I was moving into was not ready yet. Fortunately Shelly and Robert, friends of mine, had a house that they usually rent. It is empty until September. The house I am to live in wont be ready for a few more weeks. It’s actually in pretty bad shape. The man who lived there before did quite a bit of damage and just let the place go down. Not only that but, he had not paid rent in 5 years. The place is more dirty than anything.

The reason I moved here, my kids. They said they wanted me here. My son is 15 and my daughter is 12. However, the few days I have been here, my son has been scarce. And when I do see him he plays video games the whole time I’m there. The normally, motor mouthed boy, has had almost nothing to say to me.

I did get to go to breakfast with my daughter yesterday. Well I guess that’s something. We had a good time. Then she went swimming for a while until it started raining.

Today I have not seen either of them even though they’re just across the street. So now I am out, for the second time today, riding my motorcycle. I think someone is over at the house I’m supposed to be renting, doing some painting. I will probably go over in a few minutes to check it out.

I am still freaked out a little, having packed up all my stuff, and moved to a different State. The police already make me nervous. There is a very small town feel, not the good kind (that’s the way I feel anyway). I’m sure it will be better after I have been here longer.
